Pete was very dear to me and to his grand children, Isla and Finlay. We loved having Pete and Margaret to stay in Australia when they made it over. I was so proud of them for travelling so far and for the daily adventures they would have together. The kids loved talking to Pete on the phone as he always made them laugh and told them he was proud of them. It was precious to see and hear him with them as it was always clear how much they meant to him. They will always miss their Grandad Pete (or Penguin as he was fondly known) and I will miss his kindness, his great sense of humour, his stories and his gentle soul. We are sorry that we cannot be there but are grateful for the opportunity to pay tribute to him and remember the good times.
